Hello, I am Reda Tomingas, Lithuanian illustrator and animation director based in Tallinn, Estonia.
Also the author and illustrator of the plant book Fotosinteze.
I mostly work with book illustrations for kids and grownups, but I also actively seek editorial and advertising assignments.
My subjects of interest are animals, botany, portraits, femininity.
Main medium are mixed media and non vector digital art, but I also work in acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, monoprint.

Awards:
For illustration:
- My book “Fotosintezė” nominated as one of the most beautiful Lithuanian books of 2019 (for the harmony between the content and form-designer Tadas Karpavičius).
- The children’s book “History Wags the Tail: Short Stories about the Long Friendship between Man and Dog in Lithuania” by Sigita Mikšaitė and illustrator Reda Tomingas has won two awards from the Lithuanian branch of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY). 2026
- The book “Žmogus tarp pasaulių. Ainų tauta Japonijos šiaurėje ir etnografas Bronislovas Pilsudskis” (A Man Between Worlds: The Ainu Nation in Northern Japan and Ethnographer Bronislovas Pilsudskis) (2025. The national museum of Lithuania) was awarded a prestigious diploma in the children’s literature category at the 34th Book Art Competition organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania in 2026.
- Daiva Čepauskaitė. “How Grikis Raised a Boy” (2022. Žalias kalnas). Diploma to Rūta Ivaškevičiūtė and Reda Tomingas, was awarded a prestigious diploma in the children’s literature category at the 31th Book Art Competition organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania in 2023.
- Katrin Tõnisson. “Piggy’s Big Wish”. (2024. Päike ja Pilv) won 2nd and 3rd place in the annual “Põlvepikuraamat” competition and went on to be honored as one of the 5 Most Beautiful Estonian Children’s Books of 2024.
- Fantasy book for youth “Odilės pasaka” (Author Neringa Vaitkutė, publisher Aukso žuvys) earned a spot in the 2025 White Ravens selection, a curated global catalog of outstanding children’s and young adult literature presented by the International Youth Library in Munich, Germany.
